It’s finally time for our wonderful 6th grade classes to join forces and perform in their first concert. We’ve come a long way from our first “How to Open Your Instrument Case” lesson!
Just a reminder that our beginning band has two mandatory rehearsals, 12/1 and 12/5, after school until 5:00 in the Band Hall. These are our only chances to put our pieces together with everyone!
Our Winter Concert is on 12/7 at 6:00 pm here on the stage in our GMS Cafetorium. All are invited and encouraged to attend! As “admission” this year, we are asking that audience members consider bringing an item to donate to the Frisco Family Services Food Pantry. They are most in need to cleaning supplies and personal care items. Please see our “Tis the Season….” web post for more details!
Students will need to arrive for the concert at Griffin at 5:20 and be in their seat ready to warm up at 5:30. Students should wear nice “dress clothes”. Dresses or nice pants for the ladies (must be in dress code, prefer knee-length or longer skirts), and dress pants and a nice shirt for the gentlemen. Ties are optional. No jeans, tennis shoes, basketball shorts, t-shirts, etc., please.
Following our concerts we always have a reception to congratulate our musicians. If students could bring sweet or savory finger foods to share for the reception, that would be great! They could be brought to school the morning of the 7th, or can be brought with the student on the evening of the concert.
